Barbarian Boerboels is operated by Danny and Paula Gibson from Grafton, Illinois. The kennel was originally based in the Battle Ground / La Center area of Washington (Clark County) and relocated to Illinois around 2023; its own website advertised dual "Washington State and Illinois locations" through 2024 during the transition, but 2025-2026 listings reference only the Illinois location. A Washington area-code phone, (360) 601-5743, and a La Center, WA Better Business Bureau registration (zero complaints on file) remain from the Washington period. The kennel claims over thirteen years in the breed and a roster of roughly twenty-nine dogs. The website publishes specific SABBS appraisal scores for active breeding stock. The active male roster publishes appraisal scores from 81.1% to 89.8%; the kennel's breeding-males page lists OFA testing for hips, elbows, and heart on Outlaw Notorious Barbarian (DOB 01/06/23), Barbarian Kairo (DOB 07/10/2021, DNA-profiled), Barbarian Moses (DOB 01/14/2021, DNA-profiled), and Rockwall Rumble (DOB 05/07/22). The kennel describes itself as "100% USDA-licensed and inspected," stating on its website that USDA random inspections have been conducted; however, searches of the USDA APHIS Public Search Tool under "Barbarian" and "Gibson" nationally, including a full Illinois Class A breeder enumeration, returned no matching licensed record. A further check of the national database of USDA-licensed dog breeders and dealers (roughly 2,900 active licensees) likewise returned no match for the kennel, and the only similarly surnamed licensee was an unrelated Texas breeder; the kennel is also not listed on the American Boerboel Club approved-breeder list, and no USDA license number appears on its website or BBB profile. The absence of a verifiable record does not by itself confirm non-licensure — a licensee may operate under a legal entity name that does not match the trade name — but the claim cannot currently be independently corroborated through any publicly accessible channel. Contract text, health-guarantee terms, and individual OFA certificate numbers are not published on the public website. The kennel's own website over time documents a high-volume breeding program. Between 2021 and 2025 the kennel advertised on the order of fifteen to thirty distinct litters per year — anchored most clearly at about nineteen litters in each of 2023 and 2024 — drawn from a breeding roster that ranged from roughly nineteen to twenty-two intact females (consolidating to about twelve active females by late 2025) plus six to eight active studs at any time. Stated litter sizes commonly ran eight to twelve puppies, with one 2024 litter described as fifteen, implying well over one hundred puppies offered in a typical year. Puppies are sold sight-unseen and shipped nationwide by in-cabin nanny delivery ($600-700), priced at $5,000 for standard and $7,000 for solid-black puppies with a non-refundable $1,000-per-puppy deposit; in-person pickup at the Grafton home is also offered. By volume this is a commercial-scale operation rather than a small-batch or single-litter breeder.
